About Quel Grand Plaisir:
Quel Grand Plaisir ( "Q") is owned by Peggy Harris of Omaha, Nebraska. He is a 1999 Oldenburg gelding by Quattro B. Half-brothers Much Ado and Quantum Tyme have competed internationally for riders Carol Lavell and Evi Strasser respectively.
In August, 2003, Peggy purchased Q in Quebec, Canada from Lee Verdier who had imported him from Europe. New to both warmbloods and younger horses, Peggy was impressed at Q's ability to ignore the large earth-moving equipment that crossed the end of the arena during one of their try-out rides.
Q spent his first few weeks in the U.S. at Konza Prairie Dressage learning the basics of Jennifer Mosier's training program and getting accustomed to the warmer climate. He then spent two years at The Riding Center in Omaha before moving to Reinbow Dressage in Springfield, Nebraska, where he and Peggy currently train 4-5 days per week. They continue to participate in monthly clinics with Jennifer Mosier at Falkland Stables in Lincoln, Nebraska, where their work on strengthening and suppling exercises highlights his generous gaits and his natural flexibility.
Q is a very social gelding with a sense of humor and a good work ethic. Those who have been around him for some time have learned how consistently he uses body language to communicate his interest in and questions about the training process. He takes great pleasure in long, thorough rolls—after rides and during turnout—and loves the sounds made by zippers and hook-and-loop closures. No bath is complete without a long drink from the hose, and sugar cubes will convince him to consider almost any request.
Peggy's plans for Q are ultimately to show him at upper level dressage.
Not for sale.
